Yesterday I was reminded of the cross country trip my family took when The Show talked about that boy who found a 5 carat diamond in the diamond fields in Arkansas. We stopped there during my families trip and unfortunately did not walk away with anything of value. When my parents told me we were going to take this trip I was mortified. In the late 80's my parents bought a used motor home. The plan was to spend a year with this bad-boy on local trips so that the following summer the family could drive cross country. A used motor home is nothing a 11 year old girl wants to be seen in. And spending your summer with you family trapped in a motor home so you can stop at all historical sites across the US is a nightmare. I was so pissed when my parents informed me that I didn't have a choice in the matter and this was how we were going to spend our summer. We packed that sucker up and hit the road. Drove all the way to New York and back. As much as I hated most of it and would just try and zone out on my walkman with my NKOTB tape on repeat, it was a pretty cool experience.
Here is my bro and I goofing around in some random parking lot in some random state. Our motor home was quite the looker………..
Here we are in South Dakota checking out Mt Rushmore. Do you think I could have pulled up those short type things I was wearing any higher?
Here I am in some sort of underground cave. I remember it was pretty cold down there. I want to say this was in Minnesota……...
