One of my best times recently was when the hubby and I had a date night back in October and went to see Macklemore at the House of Blues. It was such a great show and we had so much fun drinking and dancing that we swore the next time he is in town we would go to the show. I blogged a while back how I found out he was coming to this festival in San Bernardino but we decided not to go cause we are too old. First off it is up in San Bernardino and secondly it is this hard core hip-hop fest so I think two old ass whities might be a bit out of place. So we told ourselves that we can't miss out on the next opportunity.
Yesterday I discovered that Macklemore is performing at the 3rd anniversary party for the nightclub Fluxx downtown. No questions asked………we are there!!!! Until I started to ask questions like….. I wonder what day of the week it is? I wonder what time and for how long he would perform? Would I have to wear high heels? I did not enjoy the answers to all of these questions. It is on a school night, next Thursday the 21st. He is billed as a "featured" guest so I am guessing 3 songs would be all you would get. The time of the event says 9pm till 2am. So I get out of there at 2am and my alarm is set to go off at 3:15am. Then I see that there is also a dress code. As much as it broke my heart to admit that I just can't role like this anymore, I had to be realistic. The 3rd anniversary show at Fluxx is just not in the cards these days for me and the Mr. To all you young souls who do get to make the show please absorb some of the goodness that is Macklemore for me!!!!!!
Speaking of anniversary parties, yesterday was the 34th anniversary of the Broken Yolk. They rolled back prices…….amazing!!!! Everything was $2.99 and the drinks (fresh squeezed OJ) were .99. We told Lovelyn that we were going there for lunch yesterday cause it was the Broken Yolk's birthday. She wasn't that impressed with the "birthday party". But the food was as usual amazing.
