Went to see the Hobbit the Desolation of Smaug last night. Of course it was awesome. Was there ever any doubt? In Peter Jackson I trust. The guy should only make Hobbit movies. They are so good. So The first Hobbit movie took a little while to get going. You had a lot of characters to introduce until the adventure could take place. Not this time. They pretty much get right into it. It takes up where the first one left off. The dwarves and Bilbo on their journey and the pack of orcs coming for them. As you have probably seen, Legolas is in this one. Him and Evangeline Lilly play big roles in the movie. I was actually surprised at how big of a role Lilly had. I kept waiting for Sawyer to show up (Lost joke). The last act of the movie is all about Smaug. He is one of the coolest looking characters I have ever seen. You never feel like you are looking at something computer generated. His voice is chilling. People are going to love this dragon. The only thing people might not like is the ending. It's pretty abrupt. And it's entirely set up for the third film. But you have to know that going in. This is the middle film of three. So there isn't going to be a lot of resolution. I thought it was great. I want to see it again as soon as possible. Do you think they have a movie theater in Rivendell?
I'm a little on edge this morning. Last night, I had been asleep for about a half an hour when a huge crash woke me up from downstairs. I jumped out of bed and went down to check it out. I figured with all out Christmas decorations up, something must have fallen. But I couldn't find anything. I looked all around the house and saw nothing. WTF? So weird. So it took me about an hour to fall back asleep. I need to investigate more in the light of day.
I am super happy because I crushed Thor in the first round of our Fantasy playoffs. It wasn't even close. He talks so much smack, it was really my Super Bowl. I want to win my third title, but this is a sweet victory either way. Next up in the playoffs...my old buddy B-Dub! I'll take that hairy clown to the woodshed too. This is for bragging rights on the Fantasy Freakin' Football show!
I'm going to see the screening of the Hobbit tonight. I can't wait! I'll give you a review in tomorrow's blog.
My old pal Jay Mohr was host some NASCAR awards show over the weekend. He was roasting the room, like a good MC does when we got to Danica Patrick. He took a shot at her and she gave him the iciest stare of all time. I have never been a fan of hers, but now especially, I think she sucks. Not only has she never won anything, but obviously she takes herself a little too seriously. Check this out...
Good for the Chargers to go out and get a win. Every time they win and look as impressive as they did yesterday, I just get so frustrated as what could of been. They have beaten really good teams like the Chiefs, the Eagles and Cowboys, but have lost to stinker teams like the Texans, Redskins and Raiders. Makes no sense. Putting a beat down on Eli is always good though. Plus it gives me bragging rights over Thor, who is a big Giants fan. And I am destroying him in our 1st round of the fantasy playoffs, which is awesome. He talked a lot of trash, but I knew I was going to smash him. I am up by 30 and he has Forte tonight and I still have Alshon Jeffery. Pretty sure I got this. Thank you LeSean McCoy!
Put up all the lights this weekend. Got them up before the rain started on Saturday. Every year i struggle with getting everything to work and fit right. It's like a math problem I always struggle with. But for the first time ever, I did it without a problem. I was really proud of myself. No trips to the hardware store, no putting stuff together and having to take it apart. It only took me 6 years! I also got the tree up. The only issue with that is my son Jack. It's not if he will pull that tree down, it's when. He is a rascal and I am really worried he is going to see an ornament he likes and boom! Down goes the tree. We are gonna have to watch him like hawks. Debra and I have given each other ornaments every year we have been together. We do it with out kids now as well. Check out the ornament I got this year...
These ornaments are crazy now. They play full scenes from the movie. Last year she got me the Han-Greedo scene. This year it's Jabba. Nothing says Christmas like Jabba threatening to kill you the worst way possible!
Took the kids to see Frozen last night. It was a good kiddie flick. The snowman in the movie is hysterical. Taylor is already obsessed with it. It's all she talked about all night. After the movie we stopped by the food court to chow down. We all went our separate ways and I went to one place and ordered food. As I was standing there waiting for my food, the kid starts having a conversation with one of his co-workers about how he is sick. Then he starts coughing and wiping his nose. All while handling my food! I am stunned. First of all, if you are sick in the food world, stay home! Does he know how many people he is getting sick? Second, if you need to work, how about not flaunting it in front of me? I canceled my order and told them I didn't feel like getting sick, so I will pass on the meal. He was full on putting him hands on my order. There was no way I was going to risk it. So gross!
The new Spiderman trailer came out yesterday and I have to tell you, this is one of the best trailers I have ever seen. They got me so pumped up to see this movie. Check out how cool the Rhino looks, the not so subtle hint of the Sinister Six and even Electro looks cool, which I was kind of out on. Amazing!
