I did this thing called a Baby Registry... wicked interesting. I need to give a heads up here.. I'm like most guys in this aspect "I didnt really understand what a baby registry was for or what the heck the baby shower is about". But I'm not sure but I feel like I'm against the grain when it comes to how much I'm enjoying all this baby stuff. I'm definitly pregnant by proxy. I've read in these pregnancy magazines that they advise the women on how to corral their men and make them feel or actually take part in the pregnancy.. but I look at those articles with as a confused look as my dog makes when she hears anotha dog on TV. And this is where I feel like I am not your typical dad to be... I've almost forgot that sports exist because I can't stop reading about swaddling and sleep schedules.. I'm new to the game of babies so I know I need to read to learn. I've done more reading these last few months than I did my junior year in high school (which isnt saying much because I failed my first junior year was forced to repeat). Irregahhhdless I've been reading a wicked lot of magazines books and web articles. Seriously.. I m reading. A lot. And by looking at me you'd probably ask if it was pop-up books or if I was even capable of reading but I am and I'm doing it on the regular.
I m not sure if otha guys can even relate with me and how I am with my first kid on the way. I know most guys are like a dog waiting to go on a walk and just sitting by the front door waiting to get out.. Me on the otha hand.. I m wicked happy to go on a Babies R Us trip (which I made my first one this weekend) and think its wicked interesting all the gadgets and technologies babies nowadays have. Believe it or not just a few decades ago babies didnt have iPhone shaped teethers and they were just given a block of wood or ice cube. (I was shocked they make iPhone shaped teething things). I cant imagine its helping curb your childs urge to bite a phone. I find it interesting to read these articles addressed to moms to be about how to get their dads to be involved in the pregnancy.. and all I can think is they need to write an article for moms to be addressing wicked involved dads to be.
For most guys, a trip to Babies R Us probably makes them want to schedule an emergency root canal appointment to avoid the isles of pregnancy hormones and cute colors of onesies. But let me tell ya, hands down, I had a wicked good time. And for me I learned a lot. I had no idea they had all these things for babies. And this may be wicked far from the norm when a guy says it but they have some RAD baby gear.. like the jogging stroller and the moby wraps. You bettahhh believe I'm rocking my baby in a Moby Wrap.. And it was wicked rad to see this online this weekend because the one and only
And dooood this is wicked rad... Moby Wraps now have MLB team logos... I need a Red Sox wrap for baby.
I should of put this on the registry.
This Babies R Us is a wicked good a time. Forreal
This generation is more tatt'd and out there when it comes to the looks department but I felt like all the clean cut preppy looking people came out to the store while I was there.. making it way more noticable when a guy looking like me is picking up the JJ Cole Bundle Me Blanket in Pink.. haha.
Its funny when things like this come out of my mouth..
Does anyone have a good playpen reccomendation. We need a travel one to be our full time playpen and we love the playpens that are actually three in one. I looked at a few this weekend and our favorite for the price (we need an inexpensive one) is this
Its the Safety First Satellite Premiere Play Yard. I figured otha parents would be able to give me some good advice on baby items.. the good the bad and the bargain. I'd love any and all advice. Thank you!!!
I also find myself knowing nothing about brands when it comes to babies. And I'm sure I'll learn a lot once baby is here. I'm not too brand specific for myself.. I more care about quality and organic or all natural. I have a lot of learning to do. haha
