I had my last fantasy football draft last night. This is the league I have been in the longest. My buddy B-Dub, who I do the Fantasy Freakin' Football show with, brought me into this league over 10 years ago. It is Dub's Dad and all his former co-workers. These guys have been doing fantasy long before it was cool. This league has been around for over 30 years. I love playing in it because of how crusty and funny these guys are. I am still a young pup to them. It's a pure scoring league. So no yards, just points. It is actually a much tougher way to play. Trying to figure out who is gonna score is hard. In this league Michael Bush is actually more valuable than Matt Forte. So we had the draft at the Bullpen in Clairmont Mesa last night. I haven't been there in a while. The place looks great. I had the 6th pick. I ended up with Doug Martin, which was a steal. I always feel like I school these old guys at the draft, but somehow they always kick my ass during the season. Hopefully this is my year. We'll see....
I had to leave a little early though because it was Taylor's open house at her school. I jammed home and picked up the family and headed over to the school. Got to meet the teachers, see her classroom, etc. It was cool. But I realized at one point I had on my kick ass Star Wars shirt. All these other Dads are rocking their polos and Dockers. Here I am, the guy in shorts and his Star Wars shirt. I'm that guy. Not sure if that makes me the cool Dad or not. Probably not. This is the shirt I had on...my kick ass Star Wars band.
Because it's TBT, here is a picture of me from my preschool days. Same age as Taylor. Crazy!
